Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT (for 4WD with Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  4. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  5. REMOVE AIR INTAKE DUCT LH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  6. REMOVE AIR INTAKE DUCT RH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  8. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    See step  9

  9. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  14

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  15

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK 

    See step  16

  13. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE 

    See step  17

  14. REMOVE FAN SHROUD 

    See step  18

  15. DISCONNECT AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air tube assembly.

  16. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    2. Slide 5 hose clamps and disconnect the 5 water bypass hoses.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 No. 1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
      *3 No. 3 Water By-pass Hose
      *4 No. 4 Water By-pass Hose
      *5 No. 5 Water By-pass Hose
      *6 Oil Cooler Hose
      *7 No. 2 Oil Cooler Hose
    3. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the oil cooler hose.
    4. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler hose.
    5. Remove the 5 bolts and water inlet housing.

    6. Remove the O-ring from the water outlet pipe.
    7. Remove the gasket from the water pump assembly.
  17. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. for Separate Type:

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 idler pulley cover plates, 2 No. 2 idler pulley sub-assemblies and 2 No. 2 idler pulley cover plates.

    2. for Integrated Type:

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 2 idler pulley sub-assemblies.

  18. DISCONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the vane pump assembly.

  19. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  20. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ] )

  21. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  22. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 17 bolts, water pump assembly and gasket.
