Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).

  3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT (for 4WD with Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2021 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  6. REMOVE AIR INTAKE DUCT LH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  7. REMOVE AIR INTAKE DUCT RH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 
    1. Raise the front of the V-bank cover to detach the 2 pins. Then detach the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket, and remove the V-bank cover.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose and vacuum hose.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    3. Remove the bolt and loosen the 2 hose clamps.
    4. Remove the No. 1 air cleaner hose.
  12. DISCONNECT NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 air injection system hose.

  13. REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. For Bank 1 Side:
      1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air tube assembly from the No. 1 emission control valve set.

    2. For Bank 2 Side:
      1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air tube assembly from the No. 2 emission control valve set.

  14. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE (for 2WD) 
    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

  15. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.
    3. Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

      Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.

    5. Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve connector.
    6. Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

      Detach the 2 heater water hose clamps.

      Remove the 2 bolts and throttle body bracket.

      Using a clip remover, detach the wire harness clamp from the No. 1 surge tank stay.

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 surge tank stay.

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 surge tank stay.

      Remove the 2 nuts, 4 bolts and intake air surge tank.

    13. Remove the gasket.
  16. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  18. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  19. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

      Remove the 4 nuts, 6 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.
