Shifter Fork And Rod: Removal

- Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the back-up light switch and the neutral position switch. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>SWITCHES AND HARNESS>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transfer case together with the extension case assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>TRANSFER CASE AND EXTENSION CASE ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transmission case. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>TRANSMISSION CASE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the drive pinion shaft assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>DRIVE PINION SHAFT ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the main shaft assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>MAIN SHAFT ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the front differential assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the reverse idler gear assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>REVERSE IDLER GEAR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the check ball plugs, check ball springs and check balls.
- Use the ST (REMOVER) to push out the straight pin of 5th-6th shifter fork and reverse shifter fork, and remove the 5th-6th shifter fork, reverse shifter fork, 5th-6th fork rod and reverse fork rod.CAUTION: Since removing in the neutral position is impossible due to the narrow clearance to the transmission case, set the gear into the reverse position when tapping out the straight pin.
- Drive out the straight pin by tapping with the ST (REMOVER), and remove the 3rd-4th shifter fork and 3rd-4th fork rod.CAUTION: When removing the 3rd-4th fork rod, set the other fork rods in neutral position.
- Drive out the straight pin by tapping with the ST (REMOVER), and remove the 1st-2nd shifter fork and 1st-2nd fork rod.
