Transmission Case: Removal

- Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the clutch release lever and the release bearing. Refer to CLUTCH SYSTEM>Release Bearing and Lever>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transfer case together with the extension case assembly. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>TRANSFER CASE AND EXTENSION CASE ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bearing mounting bolt.
- Remove the main shaft rear plate.
- Remove the bolts and nuts, and separate the transmission case.
- Remove the drive pinion shaft assembly.NOTE: Use a hammer handle, etc. to remove if too tight.
- Remove the main shaft assembly.
- Remove the front differential assembly.
- Remove the differential side retainers and taper roller bearing outer races. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .CAUTION: Do not confuse the right and left taper roller bearing outer races.
- Remove the reverse idler gear. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>REVERSE IDLER GEAR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the shifter fork and rod. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>SHIFTER FORK AND ROD>REMOVAL .
- Remove the front oil guide.
