Transfer Case And Extension Case Assembly: Removal

Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
Remove the back-up light switch and the neutral position switch. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (6MT)>SWITCHES AND HARNESS>REMOVAL .

Remove the transfer case together with the extension case assembly.

Remove the transmission cover.

Set and hold the selector lever COMPL to the 1st-2nd side, and remove the transfer case and extension case assembly as a unit.

Remove the transfer cover.

Use the ST (REMOVER) to push out the straight pin, and remove the shift lever COMPL.

Remove the extension case assembly.

Remove the transfer driven gear and center differential as a unit.

Remove the taper roller bearing (extension case side) outer race and the adjusting washer.
