Inspection [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. Terminal Voltage Inspection 
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    2. Remove the following parts:
      1. Center console tray

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      2. Shift bezel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      3. Upper panel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      4. Shift lever knob (MTX)

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      5. Selector lever knob (ATX)

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      6. Shift panel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      7. Console side panel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      8. Front console box

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      9. Disc player

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      10. Front console

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      11. Side wall

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      12. Rear console

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      13. Driver-side front scuff plate

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      14. Driver-side front side trim

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      15. Hood release lever

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      16. Fuel-filler lid opener lever

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      17. Driver-side lower panel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      18. Glove compartment

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      19. Center panel

        Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    3. Pull the center lower panel from the body.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    4. Connect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    5. Verify that the voltages of each of the terminals are as indicated in the terminal voltage table (reference).
      • If the voltage is not as specified in the terminal voltage table (reference), inspect the parts under Inspection item(s) and related wiring harnesses.

        - If the system does not work normally even though the inspection items or related wiring harnesses do not have any malfunction, replace the hazard flasher.

  2. LED Illumination Inspection 
    1. When using Techstream
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC-2.
      2. After vehicle identification, select the following from the Techstream initialization screen.

        1. "Data logger"

        2. "Module"

        3. Combination Meter

      3. Using the simulation function LCD_SEG, verify that the following warning/indicator lights are turned on.
        • If any one of the warning/indicator lights is not displayed, replace the hazard flasher.

        *a WITH OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR
    2. When not using Techstream
      1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
      2. Using a jumper wire, connect hazard flasher terminal 4 and body ground for 5 s or more.
        NOTE:

        If the terminals are mistakenly connected, vehicle damage or fire could occur. When connecting with the jumper wire, thoroughly verify what terminals are being connected to prevent a miss-connection.

      3. Verify that the following warning/indicator lights are turned on.
        • If any one of the warning/indicator lights is not displayed, replace the hazard flasher.
