Removal [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM 
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Remove the shift lever using the following procedure:
      1. Remove the center console tray.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      2. Remove the shift bezel.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      3. Remove the upper panel.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      4. Remove the shift lever knob.

        *a Shift Lever Knob
      5. Remove the shift panel.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      6. Remove the console side panel.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      7. Remove the front console box.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      8. Remove the CD player. (with CD player)

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      9. Remove the front console.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      10. Remove the side wall.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      11. Remove the rear console.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      12. Press the tabs on the control cable as shown in the figure and disconnect the control cable from the shift lever.

      13. Disconnect the control cable end (shift side) from the shaft lever.

        *b Nut
      14. Disconnect the control cable end (select side) from the shift lever using the following procedure:
        1. Push out the lock piece in the direction shown in the figure.
        2. Disconnect the control cable end (select side) from the shift lever.

      15. Disconnect the connector from shift lever as shown in the figure.

        *b Clip
        *c Connector
      16. Remove the shift lever.

        *a Nut
        N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque
    3. Remove the control cable using the following procedure:
      1. Remove the air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct as a single unit.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      2. Remove the battery tray and PCM component.

        Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

      3. Remove the control cable end from the manual transaxle.

        *a Control Cable End
        *b Lock Pin
        1. Pull the lock pin in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and release the control cable end (manual transaxle side) lock.
        2. Remove the control cable end from the manual transaxle.
      4. Press the tabs on the control cable and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

      5. Remove the fastening nut for the control cable.

        *a Nut
        N*m (kgf*cm, ft.*lbf): Specified torque
      6. Remove the fastening nuts for the grommet.

      7. Remove the control cable.
