	Remove/install
1	Secure vehicle to prevent it moving away.
2	Shift the transmission (1) into neutral position.
3	Release parking brake.
4	Remove ground line of battery.		AR54.10-P-0051S
5	Raise vehicle using vehicle lift and secure in place.		AR00.60-P-1006A
6	Remove center engine compartment lining and rear engine compartment lining.	Only install engine compartment paneling after a leak test.	AR61.20-P-1105S
7	Remove rear propeller shaft.		AR41.10-P-0050SVZ
8	Remove left catalytic converter.		AR49.20-P-0101SVZ
9	Remove right catalytic converter.		AR49.20-P-0102SVZ
10	Detach left and right exhaust system holder (4) from transmission (1).	Screw, Exhaust system bracket to transmission	*BA49.10-P-1004-02Y
11	Remove ground line (5) from transmission (1).	Bolt, ground strap to transmission housing	*BA54.18-P-1001-02D
12	Remove heat shield (6).		AR27.40-P-0700-01S
		Bolt, leaf spring for heat shield to transmission	*BA27.10-P-1008-04H
		Bolt, heat shield to oil pan	*BA27.10-P-1009-04H
13	Release and disconnect central connector from transmission (1).
14	Detach holder (7) from oil pan and place to one side with attached electrical wiring harnesses.	Screw, electrical wiring harness holder to oil pan	*BA27.10-P-1035-04H
15	Detach retaining clamps (8) and holder (9) from engine housing.	Screw, holder for oil line to engine block	*BA27.55-P-1025-01D
16	Detach oil lines (10, 11) from transmission (1) and seal connections with suitable stop plugs.		AR27.10-P-0501-03LF

18	Remove cover (13).
19	Detach torque converter from drive plate (15).	Do not use an impact wrench or compressed air tool to remove the bolts. Otherwise, the threaded unions (16) in drive plate (15) may be damaged.	AR27.20-P-0001-01EWM

20	Lower transmission (1) until holders (2, 3) are accessible.
21	Detach holders (2, 3) from transmission (1) and place to one side with attached electric lines.	Screw, electrical wiring harness holder to torque converter housing	*BA27.10-P-1036-04H
22	Remove screws (17).	Screw/nut, transmission to engine	*BA27.10-P-1001-04H
23	Detach transmission (1) together with torque converter and front axle differential propeller shaft from engine and remove.

24	Remove torque converter from torque converter housing.	If necessary.	AR27.20-P-0050EWM
25	Check threaded unions (16) for damage and looseness.	If threaded unions (16) are damaged or loose, ↓ Replace drive plate (15).	AR03.30-P-8003SVZ

30	Perform transmission adaptation with vehicle	When replacing or repairing transmission (1).

31	Reset data on service life of torque converter lockup clutch with the vehicle diagnosis system.	When replacing or repairing torque converter.

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.
