| 1 | Remove transmission with torque converter. | Engine 279 in model 223 with transmission 725.0 | AR27.10-P-0500SVZ |
| 2 | Remove crankshaft Hall sensor. | AR15.12-P-2136SVZ | |
| 3 | Install retaining lock | AR03.30-P-5000SVZ | |
| 4 | Release bolts (2) in a diagonal pattern and remove. | Do not use an impact wrench or similar pneumatic tools to release and tighten bolts (2). Otherwise, the thread in the crankshaft flange will be damaged. Attach bolts (2) and tighten in a diagonal pattern. |

| 5 | Remove transmission-side perforated disk (3). | ||
| 6 | Remove drive plate (1) and engine-side perforated disk. | ||
| Check | |||
| 7 | Check drive plate (1) for damage and wear. | If damage or wear is present, ↓ Install new drive plate (1). If starter ring gear is damaged: ↓ Check pinion at starter. |

| 8 | Check nuts for torque converter in drive plate (1). | If there is a problem, ↓ Install new drive plate (1). |

| 9 | Check engine-side perforated disk and transmission-side perforated disk (3) for damage and wear. | If damage or wear is present: ↓ Replace engine-side perforated disk and/or transmission-side perforated disk (3). |

| 10 | Check that cylinder pin (arrow) is firmly seated. | If cylinder pin (arrow) is loose: ↓ Secure and/or replace cylinder pin (arrow). |

| 11 | Check rear radial shaft sealing at crankshaft for engine oil loss, damage and wear. | If engine oil loss, damage and/or wear are present: ↓ Replace rear radial shaft sealing at crankshaft. |
