	Remove/install
1	Put transmission into neutral position.
2	Release parking brake.
3	Remove center engine compartment lining and rear engine compartment lining.	Model 223 with engine 279 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)	AR61.20-P-1105S
4	Remove exhaust system.		AR49.10-P-7142SVZ
5	Remove heat shield (2).	Model 223 with engine 279 except code 961 (Exhaust system with OPF, generation 2.0)
6	Remove heat shield (5) from fuel tank (6).
7	Loosen screws on propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3).	Bolt, propeller shaft intermediate bearing/center reinforcement to frame floor assembly	*BA41.10-P-1003-01O
8	Remove flex disks (4) from transmission and rear axle differential.	Helper required. Flex disks (4) remain on the propeller shaft (1).	AR41.10-P-0040-02SVZ
		Flexible coupling to transmission/front propeller shaft.	*BA41.10-P-1001-01O
		Flexible coupling to rear axle differential or rear propeller shaft	*BA41.10-P-1002-01O

9	Remove screws from propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3) and detach propeller shaft (1).	: Screw in screws so that they are loose and only tighten after the flex disks (4) have been tightened on the transmission and rear axle differential. Vibrations in the drive train and damage may otherwise occur. Make sure that the propeller shaft halves do not come apart at the sliding piece connection. Otherwise damage will occur. Helper required.
10	Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3) for wear and damage.	If problems exist, ↓ Replace propeller shaft (1).
11	Check flex disks (4) for wear and damage.
		If problems exist, ↓ Replace flexible couplings (4).	AP41.10-P-4152D
		Flexible coupling to rear axle differential or rear propeller shaft	*BA41.10-P-1002-01O
		Flexible coupling to transmission/front propeller shaft	*BA41.10-P-1001-01O
		Counterholder	Fig 2
12	Install in the reverse order.
