5	Remove screws (6) and remove vibration damper (7).	Transmission 725.0, 725.1 (except 725.163) in model 223 (except 223.179/979) with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) Screw/nut, vibration damper to transfer case	*BA28.10-P-1008-01G
6	Lower automatic transmission (5) until all screws (9) around circumference of transfer case (10) are accessible.
7	Support transfer case (10).

8	Remove screws (9) and detach transfer case (10) from automatic transmission and front axle differential propeller shaft (4).	The marking on the power output flange gearing must line up exactly with the marking on the front axle differential propeller shaft (4). A second person is required to help with detaching and attaching front axle differential propeller shaft (4). Screw/bolt, transfer case to automatic transmission	*BA28.10-P-1001-01G
9	Check intermediate panel (8) for damage.	If damage is found, ↓ Replace intermediate panel (8).
10	Install in the reverse order.
11	Check and correct oil level of transfer case (10).		AR28.10-P-0100-06S

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
	Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. 12	Perform engine test run and check transfer case (10) for proper operation and leak tightness.
