| 1 | Fully retract roller sunblind in rear. | ||
| 2 | Remove sun visors. | AR68.60-P-5480S | |
| 3 | Remove grab handles from roof. | AR68.30-P-4330S | |
| 4 | Remove additional brake lamp. | AR82.10-P-5376S | |
| 5 | Remove C-pillar trims. | AR68.30-P-4490S | |
| 6 | Remove upper B-pillar trims. | AR68.30-P-4700SG | |
| 7 | Remove A-pillar trims. | AR68.30-P-4050S | |
| 8 | Remove inside rearview mirror. | AR68.40-P-0001S | |
| 9 | Remove additional inside mirror. | Model 223 with code X045 (Second additional inside rearview mirror) with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) |

| 10 | Remove driver seat. | AR91.10-P-1000S | |
| 11 | Release edge guard at door cutouts in area of roof lining (1). | ||
| 12 | Release and disconnect electrical connectors (2, 3) at left and right C-pillar. | ||
| 13 | Unlock lock (arrows A) and release roof lining (1) from protective plate. | ||
| 14 | Release roof lining (1) from protective plate downwards (arrows B). | ||
| 15 | Slightly pull roof lining (1) toward rear and detach at rear at hooks (arrow C). | ||
| 16 | Fully open rear door on driver's side and remove roof lining (1) from vehicle through rear door cutout. | Do not deform roof lining (1) too much and remove carefully. Otherwise the headliner (1) can be damaged. |

| 17 | Remove all detachable parts from roof lining (1). | When replacing roof paneling (1). | |
| 18 | Install in the reverse order. |
