| 3 | Remove right air filter housing | AR09.10-P-1150MNA | |
| 4 | Remove left engine air intake duct upstream of air filter | ||
| 5 | Remove right engine air intake duct upstream of left air filter | ||
| 6 | Detach hoses (1) on left charge air cooler (3) and on right charge air cooler (2) | Fig 1 | |
| 7 | Remove fan unit | AR20.40-P-5050MNF | |
| 8 | Remove coolant line (4) | AR20.20-P-7442MNA | |
| 9 | Remove right charge air distributor | AR09.41-P-8683MNF | |
| 10 | Detach wiring harness on alternator | AR15.40-P-5032-01MNA | |

| 11 | Detach alternator and place to one side with the lines connected | AR15.40-P-5032MNF | |
| 12 | Remove screw/bolts (5) on engine wiring harness (6) of the right charge air cooler (2) | ||
| 13 | Remove screw/bolt (7) of engine wiring harness at right cylinder head cover | *BA15.18-P-1001-01G | |
| 14 | Remove screw/bolt (8) from engine wiring harness on left charge air cooler | ||
| 15 | Remove screw/bolt (9) of engine wiring harness at left cylinder head cover | *BA15.18-P-1001-01G | |
| 16 | Disconnect electrical connection for Hall sensor of crankshaft | AR15.12-P-2136MNA | |
| 17 | Disconnect electrical connections for right knock sensors | AR15.12-P-2184MNF | |
| 18 | Disconnect electrical connection of oil pressure switch | ||
| 19 | Disconnect electrical connection for engine oil temperature sensor | AR18.40-P-4124MNA | |
| 20 | Disconnect electrical connection of fill level sensor of engine oil | AR18.40-P-5116MNA | |
| 21 | Unclip front electrical wiring harness at oil pan and crankcase | ||
| 22 | Disconnect electrical connection for right throttle valve actuator | AR09.41-P-1330MNA | |
| 23 | Detach engine wiring harness (6) on bracket o right charge air cooler (2) | ||
| 24 | Remove screw/bolts (10) | ||
| 25 | Disconnect electrical connection (11) | ||
| 26 | Disconnect electrical connection of left and right circulating air switchover valve | AR09.40-P-3000MNF | |
| 27 | Disconnect electrical connection for right boost pressure sensor upstream of throttle valve | AR09.41-P-0003MNF | |
| 28 | Detach coolant hose (12) at coolant line (13) | Fig 1 | |
| 29 | Disconnect electrical connections for solenoids of camshafts at right cylinder bank | AR05.20-P-7295MNA | |
| 30 | Place engine wiring harness (6) to one side | ||
| 31 | Detach purge line (14) from the right charge air cooler (2) | ||
| 32 | Unclip vacuum line (15) on right charge air cooler (2) and place to one side | ||
| 33 | Unclip vent line (16) at lower low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir | ||
| 34 | Open mounting clamp (18) | Fig 1 | |
| 35 | Unfasten mounting clamp of the charge air hose (19) on right charge air cooler (2) | ||
| 36 | Remove bracket for right charge air cooler (2) | *BA09.41-P-1006-01X | |
| 37 | Carefully pry out right charge air cooler (2) upwards out of brackets and remove to the front | ||
| 38 | Remove right boost pressure sensor upstream of throttle valve | When replacing the right charge air cooler (2). | AR09.41-P-0003MNF |
| 39 | Detach right throttle valve actuator together with hose (17) from the right charge air cooler (2) | When replacing the right charge air cooler (2). | AR09.41-P-1330MNA |
| 40 | Open mounting clamp (20) and remove coolant line (13) from right charge air cooler (2) | When replacing the right charge air cooler (2). |
