REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove instrument cluster    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT The frame and the 8 4" audio/COMMAND display (A40/8) are no longer required. AR54.30-P-6015LWE
2 Remove center console    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 213.0/2 with transmission 716 AR68.20-P-2000LWA
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 213.0/2 with transmission 725 AR68.20-P-2000LWE
3 Remove glove compartment    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.10-P-1402LWE
4 Remove head unit (A26/17) Audio 20 USB or Audio 20 radio    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT The head unit (A26/17) is no longer required. AR82.85-P-1101LWE
5 Remove HERMES control unit    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 213.0/2 with code 360 (HERMES UMTS) AR82.95-P-0019LWE
6 Remove passenger seat    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR91.10-P-1000LW
7 Remove passenger-side floor covering    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-2065LWE
8 Remove ventilation duct (4)    
9 Remove footrest (3)    
10 Open cable duct (5)    
11 Unfasten front passenger side A-pillar fuse box (F1/3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical leads. AR54.15-P-0004LWE
12 Remove Bluetooth® antenna    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT The Bluetooth® antenna is no longer required.
IMPORTANT Model 213 0/2 with code 294 (Knee airbag)
Do not remove driver knee airbag the electric line for the Bluetooth® antenna is routed through the cutout in the display module.		 AR82.62-P-8980LWE
13 Remove Audio/COMMAND control panel (A40/9)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Model 213.0/2 with code 421 (9G-TRONIC) except code 448 (Touchpad)
IMPORTANT The Audio/COMMAND control panel (A40/9) is no longer required.		 AR54.21-P-0501LWE
14 Remove multimedia connection unit    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT The multimedia connection unit is no longer required. AR82.60-P-1032LW
15 Disconnect electrical connectors from tuner

16 Remove coupling for fiber-optic cable from detached electrical connector socket of tuner unit Model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio) with code 810 (Sound system), model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)) with code 810 (Sound system)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : The fiber-optic cable coupling is replaced by the fiber-optic cable adapter.		  
INSTALLING Install     
17 Wrap felt tape around detached electrical connectors of tuner unit Model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio), model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB))  
18 Strap down electrical connectors of tuner unit at suitable point Model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio), model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB))
NOTES
Ensure they are properly strapped down and that no chafing can occur.
Otherwise, the wiring harness may be damaged and/or clattering noises may be produced.		  
19 Retrofit fiber-optic cable adapter Model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio) with code 810 (Sound system), model 213.0/2 with code 522 (Audio 20 radio) with code 537 (Digital radio (DAB)) with code 810 (Sound system)
NOTES
Ensure they are properly routed and that no chafing can occur.
Otherwise, the wiring harness may be damaged and system failures may occur.		 AN82.85-P-0009-08LWO 
20 Modify audio/COMMAND display (A40/8)   AN82.85-P-0009-04LWO 
21 Retrofit touchpad into new audio/COMMAND control panel (A40/9) Model 213.0/2 with code 421 (9G-TRONIC) except code 448 (Touchpad) AN82.60-P-0017-03LWE 
22 Install new Audio/COMMAND control panel (A40/9) into cover on center console

27 Retrofit electrical wiring harness for instrument cluster IMPORTANT Fix electrical wiring harness for instrument cluster in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses. AN82.85-P-0009-06LWO 
28 Route electric line for Bluetooth® antenna over the device installation frame of the Audio/COMMAND display (A40/8) and install the Bluetooth® antenna    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT Fix electrical wiring harness for Bluetooth® antenna in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses. AR82.62-P-8980LWE
29 Retrofit WiFi antenna   AN82.85-P-0005-05LWE

31 Retrofit electric wiring harness for SD card navigation IMPORTANT Fix electrical wiring harness for SD card navigation in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses. AN82.85-P-0007-06LWO 
32 Install footrest (3)    
33 Install ventilation duct (4)    
34 Close cable duct (5)    
35 Insert a fuse with a fuse rating of 5 A into slot "MF3" of the fuse box on the front passenger side A-pillar (F1/3)    
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of passenger-side A-pillar fuse box Model 213.0/2 up to model year 2021 with code 421 (9-speed automatic transmission) except code 448 (Touchpad)
IMPORTANT The slot "MF3" of the fuse box on the front passenger side A-pillar (F1/3) is labeled.		 GF54.15-P-1256-48FG
36 Insert a fuse with a fuse rating of 7.5 An into slot "313"    
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of passenger-side A-pillar fuse box Model 213.0/2 up to model year 2021
IMPORTANT The slot "313" of the fuse box on the front passenger side A-pillar (F1/3) is labeled.		 GF54.15-P-1256-48FG
37 Install front floor covering on front passenger side
