Remove/Install Windshield - AR67.10-P-1000LW

  Risk of Injury  hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m). AS82.30-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare 1-component adhesive   AR67.10-P-1000-12SX

2 Remove left and right wiper arms   AR82.30-P-6100LW
3 Remove covers (3)    
4 Unclip left and right drip rail (2) from front toward rear and remove    
5 Remove left and right A-pillar paneling   AR68.30-P-4050LW
6 Remove rain/light sensor Model 205

9 Cover vehicle interior in repair area    
  Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A 
10 Cut out windshield (1) with window cutting device and remove IMPORTANT Helper required. AR67.10-P-1000-11SX 
INSTALLING Install     
11 Open side window in driver door NOTES
Open side window in driver door until adhesive has cured (idle time).
This prevents the windshield (1) from being pressed outwards by the sudden air pressure when the doors are closed.
 
12 Prepare body flange for installation of window   AR67.10-P-1501-01P 
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area NOTES
Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface.
The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

13 Prepare windshield (1) for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03P 
    NOTES
Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.

14 Replace rubber window spacers IMPORTANT Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers only on one side. AR67.10-P-1000-02T 
15 Align windshield (1) in body opening IMPORTANT Helper required. AR67.10-P-1000-04G 
    Distance between top edge of window and front edge of roof *BE67.10-P-1001-01H 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
16 Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers    
17 Apply adhesive material NOTES
Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
NOTES
Install windshield (1) within 5 min after apply adhesive.

IMPORTANT Uniformly apply adhesive bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.

18 Install windshield (1) NOTES Move vehicle only after adhesive has dried. Observe the drying time specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
To ensure sufficient strength of the adhesive.
IMPORTANT The hood must be closed.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
The curing time of the adhesive is approx.. 2 h measured from the time the windshield (1) is installed.

19 Remove duct tape and cover material from vehicle    
20 Clean area to be repaired
