Remove/Install Rear Window - AR67.20-P-5145LW

REMOVING Remove     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge.   AR67.00-P-0001-02LWE 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 2
2 Open side window in driver door. NOTES The side window in the driver door must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the rear window (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the door are closed.		  
3.1 Remove roof spoiler with integrated brake lamp. Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.1/9, 293

3.2 Remove additional brake lamp. Model 253.3 AR82.10-P-5376LWX
4 Remove liftgate wiper motor. Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.1/9, 293 AR82.30-P-6550LW
5 Disconnect all electrical connectors on rear window (1). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.  
6 Fix all electrical lines connected to rear Notice1 window (1) to inside of rear window (1) with suitable tape. IMPORTANT The number of electrical lines varies depending on the vehicle equipment.  
7 Protect areas around rear window (1) against damage with suitable tape.    
WARNING Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A 
8 Cut out rear window (1) with window removal tool and remove. IMPORTANT Helper required. AR67.00-P-0001-01LWE 
INSTALLING Install     
9 Prepare liftgate for installation.   AR67.20-P-5145-08LWE 
  General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area   AH98.00-P-9408-06A
    NOTES The liftgate must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Use only primer filler and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG: https://xentryportaLi.daimler.com 
IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC. Primer stick		 *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
10 Prepare rear window (1) for installation. NOTES The bonding area on the rear window (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.		 AR67.20-P-5145-03LWE 
11 Replace rubber window spacers. IMPORTANT Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers only on one side.  
12 Align rear window (1) in liftgate, attach multiple tape strips for later positioning, cut and remove rear window (1) again. IMPORTANT Helper required.

13 Detach protective foil from the rubber window spacers.    
14 Apply adhesive material. NOTES Install rear window (1) within 10 min after applying adhesive material.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Uniformly apply adhesive bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.
IMPORTANT Use only repair kit specified in EPC.		 AR67.20-P-3000-05LWE 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 2
15 Align rear window (1) in liftgate according to tape strips, firmly press on and fix in place with suitable tape. IMPORTANT Helper required.
IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's specifications for curing time of adhesive material.
Perform following work only after curing time.		  
16 Connect all electrical connectors to rear window (1).    
17 Install liftgate wiper motor. Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.1/9, 293 AR82.30-P-6550LW
18.1 Install roof spoiler with integrated brake lamp. Model 205.2, 213.2, 253.1/9, 293

18.2 Install additional brake lamp. Model 253.3 AR82.10-P-5376LWX
19 Close side window in driver's door.    
20 Remove all tape from vehicle.    
CLEAN Clean     
21 Clean rear window (1), adjacent painted parts and vehicle interior.
