3	Remove soundproofing of the left rail (1) and right rail
4	Relieve fuel pressure over diagnostic socket		AR07.03-P-1460-01VA

6	Remove crash plate and soundproofing for high-pressure pump		AR07.02-P-1020MMV
7	Detach high-pressure line and low-pressure line from high-pressure pump		AR07.02-P-1020MMV
8	Detach high-pressure lines from right rail		AR07.03-P-1012MMV
9	Detach high-pressure lines from left rail (1) and close off openings with a suitable stop plug	Do not kink or bend high-pressure lines. Otherwise leaks and damage can occur. Record plug	Fig 5
10	Release and disconnect electrical connection on fuel pressure and temperature sensor		AR07.04-P-0050MMV
11	Release and disconnect electrical connections on fuel injectors (17) of left rail (1)
12	Unlock electrical connections at ignition coils of left cylinder bank, separate and unclip electrical lines from left rail (1)		AR15.12-P-2008MMV
13	Remove screw/bolts (1s) by turning each one through half a turn
14	Remove hold-down tool (3)
15	Mark fuel injectors (17) relative to respective cylinder
16	Detach left rail (1) from fuel injectors (17)
17	Remove fuel injectors (17) on left cylinder bank	Engine oil which comes out during disassembly of the left rail (1) or from the fuel injectors (17) is safe. The left rail (1) or the fuel injectors (17) can be re-used.

27	Slide fuel injectors (17) into left rail (1) and fasten in place using the hold-down tools (3)	When reusing the fuel injectors (17), observe markings. Fuel injectors (17) of the left rail (1) may only be installed again in combination with the left rail (1) (as a unit). Replace hold-down tool (3).
28	Position left rail (1) with fuel injectors (17) into left cylinder head
29	Tighten screw/bolts (1s) alternately each by half a revolution	Screw/bolt, fuel distributor to cylinder head cover	*BA07.52-P-1001-01G
30	Unlock electrical connections at ignition coils of left cylinder bank, separate and clip electrical lines onto left rail (1)		AR15.12-P-2008MMV
