DANGER Risk of injury  caused by pinching or jamming  when working on loaded springs or spring bodies Use only approved clamping devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.
AS00.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury as a result of trapping or crushing when working on the partly open Vario roof (stop mode) or within its closing range as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure the Vario roof with a suitable special tool. AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or  , in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
NOTES   Notes on Vario roof assembly work AH77.30-P-0002-01R
IMPORTANT   Use of the special "valve block" tool when performing diagnosis on the Vario roof hydraulic system allows rapid and precise troubleshooting on the hydraulic soft top actuation unit (A7/5) and the hydraulic cylinder.
IMPORTANT   Before starting the test, check oil level in reservoir of hydraulic soft top actuation unit (A7/5), correct if necessary (see Maintenance manual)
Oil loss in supply reservoir

REMOVING Remove
1 Remove paneling on the right-hand side of the trunk IMPORTANT Do not remove rear center section paneling. AR68.30-P-4800G
2 Check tightening torque on emergency actuation valve (N) of hydraulic soft top actuation unit (A7/5), correct tightening torque if necessary. NOTES Tightening torque should not be exceeded because the valve seat can be damaged and pressure loss can occur in the hydraulic soft top actuation unit (A7/5).
