Remove/install hydraulic cylinder for Vario-roof actuation - AR77.37-P-3490G

Modification notes

14.1.03 Check oil level in hydraulic unit, correct, added Step 14  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or  , in extreme cases even sever extremities. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and eye protection. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  from or pinching squeezing  when working on partially open Vario roof (stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool. AS77.50-Z-0001-01A 
NOTES Notes for carrying out assembly operations on Vario roof   AH77.30-P-0002-01R 
1.1 Remove left side paneling in trunk When removing left Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) AR68.30-P-4800G
2.1 Remove right side paneling in trunk When removing right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) AR68.30-P-4800G
3 Switch on ignition and open Vario roof with soft top switch IMPORTANT Leave trunk lid pivoted toward rear.  
4 Unscrew screws (1) and take off cover (2)    
5 Unscrew screws (3, 4) and detach paneling (5)    
6 Close Vario roof with the soft top switch    
7 Pivot trunk lid toward rear with soft top switch IMPORTANT Then switch off ignition.  
8 Unlock trunk lid in trunk lid lock by hand and move upward    
9 Remove retaining clip (6) and bolt (7)    
10 Remove retaining ring (8) and bolt (9)    
11 Expose hydraulic lines no. 41 and no. 42 when removing right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) and hydraulic lines no. 43 and no. 44 when removing left Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) up to soft top actuation hydraulic unit. IMPORTANT Mark installation position of hydraulic lines and electrical leads tied to hydraulic lines:
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe markings of installation position.
 
12 Separate hydraulic lines no. 41 and no. 42 when removing right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) and hydraulic lines no. 43 and no. 44 when removing left Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) from soft top actuation hydraulic unit. NOTES When separating hold a rag around the hydraulic line connections to prevent hydraulic oil from running out. Immediately plug connections on the hydraulic lines and on the soft top actuation hydraulic unit with appropriate plug.
IMPORTANT Pressure is still present in hydraulic lines when Vario roof has been moved with the roof switch and the ignition is not switched off.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe line coding of hydraulic lines when connecting.

13 Remove Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (10) together with hydraulic lines from Vario roof    
14 Install in the reverse order    
15 Check oil level of soft top actuation hydraulic unit, correct   AR77.37-P-3501G
