REMOVING Remove     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged leadacid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1 Disconnect battery ground line    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Disconnect/connect battery's ground cable   AR54.10-P-0003P
2 Remove front right and rear right door sill moldings.    
3 Remove paneling from A-pillar in right passenger footwell    
4 Remove side upholstery from right rear seat backrest    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear seat backrest side padding   AR91.12-P-1710P
5 Open right wiring duct    
6 Remove coverings in trunk    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install paneling in trunk   AR68.30-P-4600PB
7 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connectors.

8 Remove paneling from right C-pillar    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install paneling on C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4490PB
9 Remove side paneling in rear on right    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install side paneling in rear   AR68.30-P-4780PB
10 Remove EIS control unit (N73) IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connectors.  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install electronic ignition switch (EIS)   AR46.10-P-0810P
11.1 Remove CC with variable speed limiter switch (S40/4) Models fitted with cruise control code 440
IMPORTANT Part no longer required.

12 Remove combination switch (S4)

13 Remove jacket tube switch module from jacket tube IMPORTANT Part no longer required.

25 Close right cable duct

27 Fit paneling to A-pillar in right passenger footwell    
28 Install front right and rear right door sill moldings.    
29 Connect ground cable to battery    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Disconnect/connect battery's ground cable   AR54.10-P-0003P
30 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT Faults stored due to cables being disconnected for assembly/testing operations or due to a simulation, must be processed and erased from the fault memories after work is completed.
