Electronic ignition/starter switch (EZS) removal and installation - AR46.10-P-0810P

MODIFICATION NOTES

16.5.06 "Disconnect/connect ground line on battery" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Completely move steering column downward or press completely downward    
2 Remove cover below instrument panel   AR68.10-P-1500P
3 Remove rosette (36a) from lower section of instrument panel using claw-type wrench (020) SPECIAL TOOL Claw-type wrench for rosette on ignition/ start switch. Fig 4
4 Remove bolt (1) IMPORTANT Carefully pull panel downwards so that the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) can be removed more easily.  
5 Remove EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)    
6 Remove ignition switch cable (36h) Vehicles with automatic transmission.
IMPORTANT Press together retaining clips (arrows) and pull the ignition switch cable (36h) forward out of the retaining lugs.
 
7 Disconnect electrical connectors IMPORTANT Four connectors.  
8 Install in the reverse order
