Installation [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL HOLE PLUG

      1. Install the 12 hole plugs to the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        There are 3 different shapes of hole plug.

  2. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL REAR MOTOR MOUNTING INSULATOR

      *1 Rear suspension member sub-assembly - -
      *a -3° to 3° *b 16.3 to 17.3 mm (0.642 to 0.681 in.)
      *c Turn *d Hold
      Front of vehicle Right of the vehicle
      Turning Direction - -
      1. Using SST, install a new rear motor mounting insulator to the rear suspension member sub-assembly from the rear of the vehicle as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09316-12010 
        • SST: 09570-24011 
        NOTE:
        • Install so that the protrusions are in the positions shown in the figure.
        • Make sure that the differential mount cushion is aligned within 3° from the center.
        • Temporarily install the rear motor mounting insulator to the rear suspension member sub-assembly so that it is not tilted, and then install SST.
        • Apply oils and fats to the threads of SST bolts before use.
        • Make sure you have the correct combination of SST.
        • Check that SST contacts the entire seat surface of the rear motor mounting insulator.
        • Install the SST so that the SST bolt do not tilt.
  4. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION LH

      1. Temporarily attach a new rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH to the rear suspension member sub-assembly in the direction shown in the figure.
        NOTE:
        • The rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH is installed in the correct direction.
        • Do not apply lubricant to the outer sleeve of the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH.
  5. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION LH

      *a Turn *b Hold
      1. Install the SST as shown.
        • SST: 09830-10010 
          1. 09830-01010
          2. 09830-01020
          3. 09830-01040
          4. 09830-01050
        • SST: 09570-24011 
        NOTE:

        Before using SST, apply molybdenum grease to the center bolt of SST.

      2. Using SST, press the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH into the rear suspension member sub-assembly until there is no gap at the position shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09830-10010

          2. 09830-01020
          3. 09830-01040
          4. 09830-01050
        • SST: 09570-24011 
        NOTE:

        If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is scratched, apply chassis black to the scratched areas.

  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION RH

      1. Temporarily attach a new rear suspension member front body mounting cushion RH to the rear suspension member sub-assembly in the direction shown in the figure.
        NOTE:
        • The rear suspension member front body mounting cushion RH is installed in the correct direction.
        • Do not apply lubricant to the outer sleeve of the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion RH.
  7. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION RH 
  8. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION LH

      1. Confirm the installation direction and temporarily install a new rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH.
        NOTE:
        • Position the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH in the correct direction.
        • Do not apply lubricant to the outer sleeve of the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH.
  9. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION LH

      1. Install the SST as shown.
        • SST: 09710-28031

        NOTE:

        Before using SST, apply molybdenum grease to the center bolt of SST.

      2. Using SST, press the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH into the rear suspension member sub-assembly until there is no gap in the position shown.

        NOTE:

  11. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION RH

  13. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER LOWER STOPPER RETAINER LH 
  14. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER LOWER STOPPER RETAINER RH 
  15. INSTALL REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  16. INSTALL REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
  17. INSTALL REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  18. INSTALL REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
  19. INSTALL REAR TRANSAXLE WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER ASSEMBLY

  20. CONNECT FRAME WIRE 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  21. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Engine Lifter *b Attachment
      Attachment and Wooden Block Placement Location - -
      1. Using an engine lifter and 4 attachments or equivalent tools, support the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:
        • The rear suspension member sub-assembly is a very heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
        • If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is not securely supported, it may drop, resulting in serious injury.

        NOTE:
        • Use attachments or equivalent tools to keep the rear suspension member sub-assembly level.
        • Keep supporting the rear suspension member sub-assembly until the installation has been completed.
      2. Raise the rear suspension member sub-assembly until there is no clearance between the rear suspension member sub-assembly and vehicle.
      3. Install the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the rear suspension member rear lower brace LH and rear suspension member rear lower brace RH, 2 bolts and 6 nuts.

        BOLT A 

        Torque: 175 N.m (1785 kgf/cm, 129 ft.lbf) 

        NUT B 

        Torque: 175 N.m (1785 kgf/cm, 129 ft.lbf) 

        NUT C 

        Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

        NUT D 

        Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

  22. CONNECT INVERTER COOLING HOSE ASSEMBLY

      *a Paint mark *b 2 to 7 mm (0.079 to 0.276 in.)

      1. Connect the 2 inverter cooling hose assemblies to the inverter cooling pipe and secure them with the clip.
        NOTE:
        • Insert the inverter cooling hose assembly until it contacts the hose stopper of the inverter cooling pipe.
        • The hose clip claw position must be within the range shown in the illustration.
  23. CONNECT FRAME WIRE 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  24. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  25. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
  26. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR
