- INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly LH is necessary.
- INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING SPACER
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting spacer is necessary.
- INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH is necessary.
- Install the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque: 72 N.m (734 kgf/cm, 53 ft.lbf)
NOTE:Temporarily tighten the bolt (A), and then fully tighten the 2 bolts and nut in the order of (B), (A) and (C).
- Connect the No. 2 ground wire to the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install the radiator reserve tank assembly with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf)
NOTE:Tighten the bolt and nut in the order of (A) and (B).
- Engage the 2 clamps.
- Install the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH with the 2 bolts and nut.
- INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS

- INSTALL NO. 2 EGR PIPE GASKET

- INSTALL ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine assembly.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2023 - ]Attachments - - - Set the engine assembly with transaxle on an engine lifter.NOTE:
- Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the engine assembly with transaxle level.
- Do not perform any procedures while the engine assembly is suspended because doing so may cause the engine assembly to drop, resulting in injury. However, the engine assembly needs to be suspended when it is installed to or removed from an engine stand.
- Set the engine assembly with transaxle on an engine lifter.
*A for Bank 1 *B for Bank 2 *1 No. 1 Engine Hanger *2 No. 2 Engine Hanger - Remove the 4 bolts, No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger.
- Operate the engine lifter and install the engine assembly with transaxle to the vehicle.WARNING:
Do not raise the engine assembly with transaxle more than necessary. If the engine is raised excessively, the vehicle may also be lifted up.
NOTE:- Make sure that the engine assembly with transaxle is clear of all wiring and hoses.
- While raising the engine assembly with transaxle into the vehicle, do not allow it to contact the vehicle.
- Install the front suspension member brace rear RH and front suspension member brace rear LH to the front frame assembly and vehicle body with the 2 bolts (A) and 4 bolts (B).
Bolt (A)
Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf)
Bolt (B)
Torque: 62 N.m (632 kgf/cm, 46 ft.lbf)
- Operate the engine lifter and install the engine assembly with transaxle to the vehicle.
- Install the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly LH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf/cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE:Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of (B), (D), (A) and (C).
- Apply adhesive to the 4 bolts.
Adhesive
Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
- Install the engine mounting stay LH with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)
NOTE:Temporarily tighten the bolt (A), and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of (B), (C) and (A).
- Install the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH to the engine mounting bracket RH with the 3 bolts and nut.

- Install the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly LH to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)

Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf)

- INSTALL SUSPENSION TOWER DAMPER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 - CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 - CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH
- Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

- CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 - CONNECT NO. 4 INVERTER COOLING HOSE AND NO. 5 INVERTER COOLING HOSE
Direction to Return - - - Return the No. 4 inverter cooling hose and No. 5 inverter cooling hose to the location in the vehicle as shown in the illustration.
- Connect each hose clamp as shown in the illustration.
- Connect the No. 2 air fuel ratio sensor connector.
- Engage the 2 clamps.
- Connect the engine wire connector.
- Install the exhaust sensor bracket with the bolt.
Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf/cm, 10 ft.lbf)
- Engage the 2 clamps to connect the engine wire to the exhaust sensor bracket.
- CONNECT NO. 6 INVERTER COOLING HOSE
- INSTALL NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE ASSEMBLY
- INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER AIR DUCT
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 - INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER HEAT INSULATOR
*1 No. 23 Traction Battery Bracket - - *a Button - - Push in - - - Install the engine under cover heat insulator with the 4 nuts.
Nut (A)
Torque: 72 N.m (734 kgf/cm, 53 ft.lbf)
Nut (B)
Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf)
- Install a new No. 23 traction battery bracket, then push the button to lock it.
- Install the engine under cover heat insulator with the 4 nuts.
- INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 - INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 - INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
- Install a new exhaust pipe gasket to the front No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
- Install a new exhaust pipe gasket to the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
- Using a plastic hammer and wooden block, tap in the exhaust pipe gasket until its surface is flush with the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly.NOTE:
- Be careful with the installation direction of the exhaust pipe gasket.
- Do not reuse the exhaust pipe gasket.
- Do not damage the exhaust pipe gasket.
- Do not push in the exhaust pipe gasket by using the exhaust pipes when connecting them.
*1 Front Exhaust Pipe Sub-assembly *2 Exhaust Pipe Gasket *a Wooden Block - Connect the front exhaust pipe assembly to the 2 No. 4 exhaust pipe supports.
- Install a new exhaust pipe gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.
- Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the front No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly with 2 new bolts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
- Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly with the 2 new bolts and 2 new compression springs.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
HINT:
*1 Front Exhaust Pipe Assembly *2 Front Exhaust Pipe Sub-assembly *3 Exhaust Pipe Gasket *a Space between Flanges: 8.5 mm (0.335 in.) After installation, check that the space between the flanges of the front exhaust pipe assembly and front exhaust pipe sub-assembly is consistent front-to-rear and left-to-right.
- Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 new bolts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
- CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE
- Connect the No. 1 fuel hose to the fuel pipe.

- Install the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp to the No. 1 fuel hose.

- Connect the No. 1 fuel hose to the fuel pipe.
- CONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf)
- INSTALL INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE A
- CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE B
