Removal [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  2. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 
    1. Disengage the clamp from the No. 2 engine cover.

    2. Disengage the 3 clips and No. 2 engine cover.
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  7. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  8. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Disconnect the 2 clamps.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH from the cylinder block sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket RH from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
  12. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 
    1. for 2WD:
      1. Remove the 5 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

    2. for AWD:
      1. Remove the 4 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

  13. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  14. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  16. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  17. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 clamps from the No. 2 surge tank stay.

    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 surge tank stay from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH.
  19. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 3 water by-pass pipe from the camshaft housing sub-assembly RH.

      *1 No. 3 Water By-pass Pipe
      *2 No. 8 Water By-pass Hose
      *3 No. 9 Water By-pass Hose
    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 8 water by-pass hose from the water outlet pipe sub-assembly.
    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the rear water by-pass joint.
  20. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Remove the engine wire from the engine assembly.
  21. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the camshaft housing sub-assembly RH.

  22. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
