Removal [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  6. REMOVE CENTER NO. 4 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 radiator hose.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire bracket.

      *1 Terminal Cap
    3. Remove the terminal cap.
    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire from terminal B.
    5. Disconnect the generator assembly connector, and disengage the 2 clamps.
    6. Remove the nut.

    7. Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly.

    8. Remove the bolt and generator bracket.

    9. Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.
    10. Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt.
