Removal [09/2015 - 09/2017]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
- REMOVE SPARE TIRE
- Remove the spare tire.
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH
- REMOVE NO. 1 TOOL BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 2 TOOL BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
- REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
- Put protective tape around the door scuff plate assembly LH.
*1 Protective Tape - Detach the 2 claws and guide on the front side of the door scuff plate assembly LH in the order shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- Pull the door scuff plate assembly LH towards you in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw A.
- Pull the door scuff plate assembly LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw B.
*1 Claw A *2 Claw B - Detach the 2 claws and guide on the rear side of the door scuff plate assembly LH in the order shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- Pull the door scuff plate assembly LH towards you in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw A.
- Pull the door scuff plate assembly LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw B.
*1 Claw A *2 Claw B - Pull the door scuff plate assembly LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 6 claws and remove the door scuff plate assembly LH.
- Put protective tape around the door scuff plate assembly LH.
- REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH

- Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate LH.
*1 Protective Tape - Detach the 2 claws and guide on the front side of the rear door scuff plate LH in the order shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- Pull the rear door scuff plate LH towards you in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw A.
- Pull the rear door scuff plate LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw B.
*1 Claw A *2 Claw B - Detach the 2 claws and guide on the rear side of the rear door scuff plate LH in the order shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- Pull the rear door scuff plate LH towards you in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw A.
- Pull the rear door scuff plate LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach claw B.
*1 Claw A *2 Claw B - Pull the rear door scuff plate LH upwards in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 4 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
- Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate LH.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
- Place your hand in the position shown in the illustration and pull the upper portion of the front pillar garnish assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the 2 front pillar garnish clips.
HINT:
Make the front pillar garnish assembly LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.
*1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip *a Place hand here - Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish assembly LH.
HINT:
Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.
- Detach the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish assembly LH.
*1 Protective Tape *2 Front Pillar Garnish Clip *a 90° - - - Using your fingers, grasp the parts indicated by the arrows shown in the illustration and remove the front pillar garnish clip.NOTE:
If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.
- When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be removed by using your fingers:
- While pressing the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with your finger, lift the front pillar garnish clip in direction A.
- While pulling in direction B, push the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with the end of a screwdriver to remove the front pillar garnish clip.NOTE:
If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.
- While pressing the part indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration with your finger, lift the front pillar garnish clip in direction A.
*1 Adhesive Tape *2 Protective Cover *3 Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly LH Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
- Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish assembly LH is removed.
- Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
- Place your hand in the position shown in the illustration and pull the upper portion of the front pillar garnish assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the 2 front pillar garnish clips.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH

- DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

- REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
- for LH Side:
- Using a screwdriver, push in the claw and turn the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Pull the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the claw and guide and remove the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook.
*1 Protective Tape - -
- Using a screwdriver, push in the claw and turn the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
- for RH Side:
- Using a screwdriver, push in the claw and turn the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Pull the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the claw and guide and remove the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook.

- Using a screwdriver, push in the claw and turn the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar LH.
- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar RH.
- w/o Lane Departure Alert System, w/o Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/o Lane Departure Alert System, w/ Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/ Lane Departure Alert System, w/o Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/ Lane Departure Alert System, w/ Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- Disconnect the connector from the rear pillar RH.
- Detach the 3 clips.
- Turn the roof headlining assembly diagonally and bend slightly to remove it from the back door.NOTE:
- Make sure wrinkles do not form in the roof headlining assembly during removal.
- Make sure that the roof headlining assembly does not get caught on anything as it may become bent or damaged.
- Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or vehicle interior.
- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar LH.
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (for Sliding Roof)
- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar LH.
- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar RH.
- Disconnect the drive gear connector.
- w/o Lane Departure Alert System, w/o Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/o Lane Departure Alert System, w/ Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/ Lane Departure Alert System, w/o Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- w/ Lane Departure Alert System, w/ Humidity Sensor:
Disconnect the connectors.
- Disconnect the connector from the rear pillar RH.
- Detach the 3 clips, 8 fasteners and guide.
*1 Fastener *2 Guide - Turn the roof headlining assembly diagonally and bend slightly to remove it from the back door.NOTE:
- Make sure wrinkles do not form in the roof headlining assembly during removal.
- Make sure that the roof headlining assembly does not get caught on anything as it may become bent or damaged.
- Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or vehicle interior.
- Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps from the front pillar LH.
- REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
