Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 
    1. Disconnect the clamp from the No. 2 engine cover sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 3 clips and No. 2 engine cover sub-assembly.
  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  6. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  7. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  8. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Disconnect the 2 clamps.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH from the cylinder block sub-assembly.
  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 engine mounting bracket RH from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

      *A for 2WD
      *B for AWD
  11. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  12. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  13. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Remove the engine wire from the engine assembly.
  14. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  15. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  16. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  17. REMOVE NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 clamps from the No. 2 surge tank stay.

    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 surge tank stay from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH.
  18. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 3 water by-pass pipe from the camshaft housing sub-assembly RH.

      *1 No. 3 Water By-pass Pipe
      *2 No. 8 Water By-pass Hose
      *3 No. 9 Water By-pass Hose
    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 8 water by-pass hose from the water outlet pipe assembly.
    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the rear water by-pass joint.
  19. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [04/2013 - 10/2017]

    2. Remove the fuel tube sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
  20. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  21. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  23. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  24. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  25. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  27. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the camshaft housing sub-assembly RH.

  28. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly RH.

  29. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
