Removal [08/2015 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    for 2GR-FSE:

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2017]

    for 8AR-FTS:

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ]

  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    for 2GR-FSE:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2016 - 10/2017]

    for 8AR-FTS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2016 - 09/2020]

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 

    for 2GR-FSE:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2016 - 10/2017]

    for 8AR-FTS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2016 - 09/2020]

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (for 2GR-FSE) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  7. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE (for 2GR-FSE) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  8. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose from the compressor and magnetic clutch.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  9. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 2GR-FSE) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

    4. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt and compressor and magnetic clutch.

      HINT: 

      Remove the compressor and magnetic clutch from the vehicle with the stud bolt remaining in the compressor and magnetic clutch.

  10. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 8AR-FTS) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

    4. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and compressor and magnetic clutch.

      HINT: 

      Remove the compressor and magnetic clutch from the vehicle with the stud bolts remaining in the compressor and magnetic clutch.
