Rear Suspension Member: Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEELS 
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the No. 2 differential support protector

  4. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  11. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  16. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL  (See REPLACEMENT )
  17. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT RH 

    HINT

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  19. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  20. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  21. REMOVE REAR DISC (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  22. REMOVE REAR DISC (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  23. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH  (See REMOVAL )
  24. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

  25. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  26. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

    Perform the same procedure as the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  27. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  28. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  29. REMOVE TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  30. REMOVE TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  31. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  32. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  33. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  34. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  35. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  36. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  37. REMOVE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  38. REMOVE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  39. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and nut (B), and separate the rear stabilizer link assembly and the height control sensor link bracket
    2. Remove the bolt (A) and nut, and separate the rear shock absorber with coil spring
      NOTE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
    3. Remove the bolt and nut (C), and remove the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly

  40. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  41. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  42. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  43. REMOVE HOLE SNAP RING (for LH Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  44. REMOVE HOLE SNAP RING (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  45. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and rear height control sensor sub-assembly.

  46. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR  (See REMOVAL )
  47. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION REAR LOWER MEMBER BRACE LH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and rear suspension member brace LH

  48. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION REAR LOWER MEMBER BRACE RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  49. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  50. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER 
    1. Support the rear suspension member with a jack.

    2. Remove the 8 bolts, 2 rear suspension member stoppers, 2 differential support member lower stoppers and rear suspension member lower stoppers from the rear suspension member.

    3. Lower the jack slowly and remove the rear suspension member
  51. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR UPPER STOPPER (for LH Side) 
    1. Remove the rear suspension member rear upper stopper from the rear suspension member sub-assembly

  52. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR UPPER STOPPER (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  53. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for LH Side) 
    1. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion, while applying grease to the clearance between the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion and the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      SST 09950-00020, 09950-00030, 09950-40011 (09957-04010), 09950-60010 (09951-00300) 

      NOTE:
      • Apply a small amount of grease to the threads of SST (center bolt) before use.
      • Be careful as the body mounting cushion may fly out.
      • The rear suspension member front body mounting cushion cannot be reused.

    2. If the outer casing of the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion remains, insert SST between the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion and the rear suspension member sub-assembly, then remove the outer casing

      SST 09608-06041, 09950-00020, 09950-00030, 09950-60010 (09951-00550)

  54. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  55. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for LH Side) 
    1. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion, while applying grease to the clearance between the rear suspension member rear body mounting cushion and the rear suspension member sub-assembly

      SST 09950-40011 (09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04030, 09954-04020, 09955-04061, 09957-04010, 09958-04011), 09950-60010 (09951-00320)

      NOTE:
      • Apply a small amount of grease to the threads of SST (center bolt) before use.

  56. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for RH Side)

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side

  57. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION  (See REMOVAL )
  58. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION  (See REMOVAL )
  59. REMOVE HOLE PLUG 
    1. Remove the 4 hole plugs from the rear suspension member sub-assembly
