Installation Procedure

- Install the transmission to the engine. Refer to Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine, Equinox)Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine)Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine, Terrain)
- Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
- Slowly and carefully lower the vehicle, ensure the powertrain assembly is free from wiring, hoses and other engine compartment components.
- Install Transmission Mount Bolts (2) (Qty: 3). Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side
- Install fasteners (1) (2) and (3). Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Connect electrical connections, hoses and reposition harnesses as needed.
- Install Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe @ Transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (MNH, MHG)
- Install Radiator Surge Tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LH7 FWD)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LH7 AWD)
- Install Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Terminal (3) And Clamp Bolt (1) @ Transmission. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
- Connect Electrical Connectors (1) (Qty: 2) @ Power Steering Assist Motor (2)
- Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Right Side. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3U, MHG, MNH, MNK with FWD)
- Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side (1). Refer to Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
- Connect Stabilizer Shaft Link (Qty: 2) @ Stabilizer Shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Equinox)Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Terrain)
- Connect the steering intermediate shaft to the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)
- Install Power Transfer Unit Case. Refer to Power Transfer Unit Case Replacement (MHG Transmission with LH7 Engine)
- Install Nitrogen Oxides Sensor - Position 1. Refer to Nitrogen Oxides Sensor Replacement - Position 1
- Connect Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Heater Core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LH7 Terrain)Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LH7 Equinox)
- Connect Heater Outlet Hose (2) @ Heater Core. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LH7)
- Connect Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @ Fuel Feed Pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Install Fuel Return Front Pipe (1). Refer to Fuel Return Front Pipe Replacement
- Install Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe (1). Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (LH7)
- Connect Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (2) @ Air Conditioning Compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose Replacement (LH7)
- Connect Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LH7)
- Connect Radiator Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LH7)
- Connect the electrical connector (1) at the engine oil heater (2).
- Install Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2). Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement
- Install Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2). Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement
- Install Exhaust Front Pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LH7)
- Install Battery Tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement
- Install Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block. Refer to Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block Replacement
- Install the air cleaner assembly (2). Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
- Recharge the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- Change the engine oil and filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
- When the replacement is completed, use a scan tool to perform the appropriate reset functions. Refer to Control Module References
NOTE:
A second technician is required.
NOTE:
Use a suitable device to hold the cradle while installing the fasteners.
CAUTION:
Do not disconnect the nitrogen oxide sensor from the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. A separation of the two components may cause a defect on the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. Always replace the nitrogen oxide sensor along with the nitrogen oxide sensor control module as an assembly.
