Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (without UV6)

Preliminary Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the right and left windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Side Garnish Molding Replacement (Coupe) , Windshield Side Garnish Molding Replacement (Convertible) .
3. Remove the front floor console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
4. Remove the radio front center speaker. Refer to Radio Front Center Speaker Replacement .
5. Remove the right and left instrument panel outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
6. Remove the left and right instrument panel outer air outlet ducts. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side , and Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side .
7. Remove the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
8. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
9. Remove the turn signal multifunction switch assembly and the wiper washer switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement , and Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .
10. Remove the radio control assembly. Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement .
11. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
12. Remove the instrument panel compartment assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
13. Remove the instrument panel center air outlet grille assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Grille Replacement .
14. Remove the communication interface module and battery. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement , and Communication Interface Module Battery Replacement .
15. Disconnect the DLC Connector and hood release handle.
16. Remove the head lamp switch. Refer to Headlamp, Instrument Panel Lamp Dimmer, and Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Procedure

1. Note location and routing of the electrical harnesses in order to ensure proper reinstallation.
2. Disconnect the electrical harnesses and connectors.
3. When replacing the instrument panel trim pad, transfer all necessary components.
4. To transfer the inflatable restraint module to the new trim pad assembly, use a flat-bladed tool along the metal edge of the restraint module, pull away the trim to release the tabs of the inflatable restraint module.
