Radiator Replacement (LFX)

Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
2. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud from the vehicle. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LFX) .
3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) .
4. Remove the radiator inlet and outlet hoses from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LFX) , and Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LFX) .
5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipes from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFX) , and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFX) .
6. Remove the radiator upper mounts. Refer to Radiator Upper Mount Replacement (LFX, LF3) .
7. Unclip and reposition the air conditioning condenser without disconnecting the air conditioning compressor or air conditioning evaporator hoses. Refer to Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement (LFX) .

Procedure

1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) .
2. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing .
