Removing the left intake plenum

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
After a brake pad exchange and before pressing the brake pedal: Always apply the electromechanical parking brake.
If this is not observed, a CC message appears and the brake system switches to the emergency program. The brake booster is no longer active.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan. In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can take up to 11 minutes. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan is not necessary.

Unlock the clamp (1) .

Unlock the locks (1) in the direction of the arrow.
Disconnect the transmission oil lines (2) .
Catch and dispose of the leakage transmission oil.

Release the belt tensioner (2) clockwise with a suitable socket wrench (1) .

Maintain the preload of the belt tensioner (1) using a suitable socket wrench (3) .
Secure the belt tensioner (1) against rotation, using a special tool 0 496 268 (11 0 390)(2).

Remove the drive belt (1) from the belt pulley (2) of the air conditioning compressor (5) and put it aside.
Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Loosen screws (4) .
Detach the air conditioning compressor (5) and protect it from falling.

Release the wiring harness section (1) together with the clamps (arrowed) from the intake plenum (2) .

Remove screws (arrows).
Guide out the intake plenum (1) and remove it.
