Installing the cylinder head cover on the right

• Close the openings (1) on the cylinder head.

  The use of metal-cutting tools (e.g., emery cloths) for cleaning surfaces can damage them and lead to leaks and/or engine damage  .

• Clean the cylinder head in the area of the sealing surfaces (1).
• Open the openings (1) on the cylinder head.

• Make sure that the fitting sleeves (1) are installed.

  The fitting sleeves must not be damaged or deformed  .

• Replace the circular seal (1).

• Insert and position the cylinder head covers.
• Abut bolts (10) and (15).

  The layout of screws (10) and (15) is required for exact positioning of the camshaft position sensors  .

• Tighten screws in the order (1) to (17).

• Install heat shield (2).
• Replace screws (1).

  NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
  The following steps must be carried out if the exhaust turbocharger is still installed in the vehicle  .
  In order to guarantee accessibility to the screws on the cylinder head cover, the oil feed line of the exhaust turbocharger on the right must be detached.
• Replace the screw (1).

• Replace the sealing ring or sealing rings (2).

• Make sure that when installing sealing rings without a fitting aid (bridge), both sealing rings are replaced  .
• Position screw (1) with the sealing ring or sealing rings (2) on the oil feed line.
• Determining the screw type and selecting the appropriate socket wrench:

  Multi-tooth screw (4)	Multi-tooth socket wrench (2)

• Position oil feed line.
• Screw in the banjo bolt (2) several threads.
• Hand-tighten the bolt (1).
• Tighten the banjo bolt (2).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Banjo bolt for oil feed line to exhaust turbocharger
  M10x1 Replace the screw and sealing rings.	Joining torque	8 Nm
  	Angle of rotation	70°
