- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS) .

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.

- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Unclip the line from holder (2).
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE LEFT AND RIGHT ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK FROM THE ANTI-ROLL BAR .
- Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING THE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKE VENTILATION DUCT .
- Refer to MOVING THE ENGINE TO THE INSTALLATION POSITION .

Prerequisite
Disconnect all negative battery cables.
NOTE:
To provide a better overview: Illustration of surrounding parts removed.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1) .
- Loosen nut (2) .
- Guide the positive battery cable (3)
out of the clamp (4)
and lay to one side.
- Unlock and loosen the clamps (1) .
- Remove the wiring harness section of the automatic transmission (2)
and place to one side.
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1) .
- Loosen expanding rivet (1) .
- Undo Christmas tree clip (2)
.
- Loosen expanding rivet (1)
.
- Loosen expanding rivet (1) .
- Feed out the acoustic cover (2) toward the rear bottom and remove.
