Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Volkswagen Jetta III, 1995 Volkswagen GTI, and 1994 Volkswagen Jetta III. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • The DTC table lists DTCs in sequence according to the 5-digit code.
  • Before replacing a suspected faulty component, check all appropriate wiring, connections, harness connectors and Ground (GND) connections according to the wiring diagram. This is particularly important if the malfunctions are indicated as "occurring sporadically" (SP).
  • For wiring checks, also see ELECTRICAL TESTING WITH (VAG1598 TEST BOX) .
