Roof Headlining: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system (See AIRBAG SYSTEM ).
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING PAD (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See DISASSEMBLY )
- REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
- Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
- Disengage the clip and claw, and remove the cowl side trim board LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)
- Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
- Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)
- Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
- Cut off the clip <A>.
- Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
- Remove the clip <A> from the vehicle body.
- Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
- Cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.5 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)

- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)
- Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the 2 clips.
- Cut off the clip <A>.
- Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish RH.
- Remove the clip <A> from the vehicle body.
- Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
- Cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.5 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) cloth or piece of nylon and secure the ends of the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
- Disengage the 6 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
- REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for Driver Side) (See REMOVAL )
- DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE UPPER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a clip remover, disengage the clip and remove the upper center pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

- Disengage the 2 guides and remove the deck board assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD
- Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 2 deck board.
- REMOVE JACK CARRIER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE JACK ASSEMBLY
- Remove the jack assembly.
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH
- Remove the bolt.
- Disengage the 2 claws and remove the deck floor box LH.
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH
- Remove the bolt.
- Disengage the 2 claws and remove the deck floor box RH.
- REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR (See CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR )
- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the luggage compartment tray.
- REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER
- Disengage the 8 claws and 2 guides, and remove the rear deck trim cover.
- REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
- Remove the bolt and rear seatback hinge sub-assembly.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
- Disengage the 4 claws and clip and guide, and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.
- DISCONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
- for front side:
- Remove the bolt and luggage hold belt striker assembly.
- for rear side:
- Remove the bolt and luggage hold belt striker assembly.
- for front side:
- REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for LH Side)
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Disengage the claws, and remove the 2 No. 1 luggage compartment trim hooks.
- REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SERVICE COVER LH
- Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides, and remove the rear combination light service cover LH.
- REMOVE SIDE DECK TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
- Disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and remove the side deck trim panel assembly LH.
- REMOVE QUARTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Disengage the 2 claws, 3 clips and 2 guides, and remove the quarter pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH LH
- Disengage the 7 clips and remove the roof side inner garnish LH.
- REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH
- Disengage the 4 claws and clip and guide, and remove the rear seat side garnish RH.

- REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

- Disengage the 3 claws and 3 guides, and remove the rear combination light service cover RH.
- REMOVE SIDE DECK TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Woofer)
- Disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and remove the side deck trim panel assembly RH.
- REMOVE SIDE DECK TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Woofer)
- Disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and remove the side deck trim panel assembly RH.
- REMOVE QUARTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.
- Disengage the 2 clips and remove the visor assembly LH.
- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
- REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.NOTE: Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT:
- Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.
- Tape the clip remover tip before use.
- Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.
- Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front assist grip sub-assembly.
- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.
- REMOVE FRONT ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.NOTE: Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT:
- Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.
- Tape the clip remover tip before use.
- Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.
- Disengage the 2 clips and remove the 2 front assist grip sub-assembly.
- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.
- REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.NOTE: Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.
HINT:
- Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to remove them.
- Tape the clip remover tip before use.
- Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.
- Disengage the 2 clips and remove the rear assist grip assembly.
- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.
- REMOVE VISOR HOLDER
- Turn the visor holder approximately 45° and pull it out as shown in the illustration.
- Disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder.
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)
- w/ EC Mirror:
- Disconnect the inner rear view mirror connector.
- Disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
- Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors from the instrument panel junction block.
- Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar RH.
- Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly connectors and remove the bolt from the rear pillar RH.
- Remove the 2 clips.
- Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.
NOTE: Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior. - w/ EC Mirror:
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)
- w/ EC Mirror:
- Disconnect the inner rear view mirror connector.
- Disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
- Disconnect the No. 1 roof wire connectors from the instrument panel junction block.
- Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar RH.
- Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly connectors and remove the bolt from the rear pillar RH.
- Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.
- Remove the 2 clips.
- Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door.
NOTE: Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or body interior. - w/ EC Mirror:
- REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof)
- Remove the 3 No. 1 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/ Sliding Roof)
- Remove the 2 No. 1 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 2 ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof)
- Remove the 3 No. 2 roof silencer pads from the roof headlining assembly.
- REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE (w/o Sliding Roof)
- Remove the adhesive tape from the roof headlining assembly.
- Remove the No. 1 roof wire from the roof headlining assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE (w/ Sliding Roof)
- Remove the adhesive tape from the roof headlining assembly.
- Disengage the 3 clamps, and remove the No. 1 roof wire from the roof headlining assembly.
