HVAC System (Heater, Ventilator And A/C): Evaporator: Removal
CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION
.
- Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Drain the coolant from the radiator. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the strut tower bar RH. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>STRUT TOWER BAR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the expansion valve. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>EXPANSION VALVE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the instrument panel assembly and the beam steering COMPL. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
- Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>HEATER AND COOLING UNIT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the duct foot passenger. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>AIR VENT DUCT>REMOVAL>FOOT DUCT .
- Remove the screws and release the connector clips and claws, and then remove the case assembly heater unit.
- Remove the gasket expansion valve.
- Remove the screws and release the claws, then detach the cover evaporator.
- Remove the evaporator sensor. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER>EVAPORATOR SENSOR>REMOVAL .
- Remove the evaporator assembly.
- Using a hexagon wrench, remove the bolts and remove the pipe evaporator.
NOTE:
Perform this procedure only when required.
