Remove/Install Headliner - AR68.30-P-4300SRA

MODEL 453.3 

MODIFICATION NOTES

IMPORTANT Remove     
1 Remove left and right A-pillar paneling   AR68.30-P-4050SR 
2 Remove left and right paneling (3)   AR68.30-P-4800SRA 
3 Remove glasses compartment from roof Model 453.3
with code B18 (Spectacles compartment for driver)
AR68.30-P-4400SR 
4 Remove left and right sun visor   AR68.60-P-5480SR 
5 Remove grab handle (6) Model 453.3
with code I18 (Grab handle for front passenger)
AR68.30-P-4330SR 
6 Remove retaining clips(20) SPECIAL TOOL Clip remover Figure
7 Remove cover (4) SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Figure
8 Move seats completely toward rear    
9 Completely fold backrest toward front NOTES  
10 Pull down headliner (1) at front until electrical wiring harness is accessible Do not kink or bend headliner (1) excessively. Otherwise the headliner (1) can crack or break.  
11 Detach adhesive strips on electrical wiring harness from headliner (1) IMPORTANT Ensure that electrical wiring harness is routed and adhesive strips are positioned.  
12 Loosen headliner (1) from roof NOTES
Carefully loosen headliner (1) and do not kink or bend excessively.
Otherwise the headliner (1) can crack or break.
IMPORTANT The headliner (1) is fastened with velcro strips (5) or bonded.
If the headliner (1) is bonded, it will be damaged when loosening, but can be reused.
 
13 Lower headliner (1), turn 90° to right and remove through passenger door as shown NOTES
Do not kink or bend headliner (1) excessively. Otherwise the headliner (1) can crack or break.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
INSTALLING Install     
14 Order repair set via XSF ticket If the headliner (1) was bonded previously.
IMPORTANT For the time being, the repair kit must be ordered via XSF ticket.
 
15 Remove glue residues If the headliner (1) was bonded previously.  
16 Prepare bonded areas according to manufacturer's specifications If the headliner (1) was bonded previously.  
17 Apply adhesive to headliner (1) in bonded areas If the headliner (1) was bonded previously.  
18 Guide headliner (1) through passenger door into vehicle as shown, turn 90° to left, align on roof and press on NOTES
When the headliner (1) is bonded, the adhesive should not come into contact with other components.
Otherwise they could be soiled irreversible.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
19 Pull down headliner (1) at front, position electrical wiring harness and fix in place with new adhesive strips NOTES
When the headliner (1) is bonded, do not pull down headliner (1) to far.
Otherwise the headliner (1) can loosen again and the adhesive force can be decreased.
NOTES
Do not kink or bend headliner (1) excessively. Otherwise the headliner (1) can crack or break.
IMPORTANT Ensure that electrical wiring harness is routed and adhesive strips are positioned adhesive strips.
 
20 Move seats to default position    
21 Install cover (4)    
22 Install retaining clips (20)    
23 Install grab handle (6) Model 453.3
with code I18 (Grab handle for front passenger)

24 Install left and right sun visor   AR68.60-P-5480SR 
25 Install eyeglasses compartment on roof Model 453.3
with code B18 (Spectacles compartment for driver)
AR68.30-P-4400SR 
26 Install left and right paneling (3)   AR68.30-P-4800SRA 
27 Install left and right A-pillar paneling   AR68.30-P-4050SR
