Remove/install coolant pump - AR20.10-P-1271EL

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove charge air cooler ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 212, 218 AR09.41-P-6819ELS
2 Remove coolant thermostat (2) ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 212, 218 AR20.10-P-2460ELS 
ENGINE 276.9 in MODEL 212, 218 AR20.10-P-2460EL 
3 Detach coolant hoses from coolant connections (10) ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212.095/195
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check coolant hoses and hose clamps for damage.		  
4 Detach coolant hose at coolant connection (11) ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212.095/195
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check sealing ring for damage.		  
5 Unlock electrical connection for electrical wiring harness (9) on power electronics control unit and disconnect ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212.095/195  
6 Disconnect electrical connection (13) and expose electrical wiring harness up to cable duct (14) ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212.095/195  
7 Remove screw/bolts (12) and coolant circulation pump (M13/5) with holder and cable duct (14) to one side ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212.095/195  
8 Remove poly-V belt (3) ENGINE 276.8 in MODEL 212, 218 AR13.20-P-0001ELS

IMPORTANT Lock clamping device with a suitable drift (01).		 AR13.20-P-0001EL
9 Unclip electrical line (5) on bracket (4) for the guide pulley ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212 (except 212.095/195) without CODE 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging)
ENGINE 276 in MODEL 218 without CODE 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging)		  
10 Remove guide pulley bracket (4) ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212 (except 212.095/195), 218  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, guide pulley carrier to timing case cover/cylinder crankcase *BA13.25-P-1002-01X 
11 Detach coolant inlet fitting (6) on coolant pump (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screw/bolts.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, coolant suction nozzle to coolant pump/timing case cover *BA20.10-P-1003-01AA 
12 Detach guide pulley (7) from coolant pump (1) ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212 (except 212.095/195), 218
When replacing the coolant pump (1)		  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, guide pulley to coolant pump *BA13.25-P-1004-01X 
13 Remove screw/bolts for coolant pump (1) Coolant pump tightening procedure AR20.10-P-1280-01KH

INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screws/bolts; observe bolt plan and tightening procedure.		 AR20.10-P-1271-03MMA 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, coolant pump to timing case cover and crankcase *BA20.10-P-1001-01AA 
14 Remove coolant pump (1) from timing case cover.    
15 Detach coolant pump cover (1a) from coolant pump (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace coolant pump cover (1a) and seal (8).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, cover to coolant pump *BA20.10-P-1004-01AA 
CLEAN Clean     
16 Clean sealing surfaces on coolant pump (1) and timing case cover   AR01.00-P-0050-01A
Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
17 Install in the reverse order    
18 Check engine cooling system for leaktightness   AR20.00-P-1010EL 
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
19 Conduct engine test run and check coolant pump (1) for leaktightness
