Preliminary work

  1. Disconnect ground line on the battery. → 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY
  2. Remove headliner. → 708419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HEADLINER
  3. Remove dashboard. → 701819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DASHBOARD
  4. Remove carpet. → 704119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CARPET
  5. Remove insulating mat under the rear seat.
  6. Remove rear inner door sill trim at the left. → 680519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR INNER DOOR SILL TRIM
  7. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on (central) headlight control unit. → 941619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (CENTRAL) HEADLIGHT CONTROL UNIT
  8. Remove control unit for front-end electronics. → 944919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CONTROL UNIT FOR FRONTEND ELECTRONICS
  9. Remove front lid release. → 551019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT LID RELEASE
  10. Loosen fuse box in dashboard at the left. → 978409 LOOSENING AND SECURING FUSE BOX 

    Vehicles with KESSY 

  11. Disconnect electric plug connection for KESSY antenna at the left door entry guard and expose electric line. → 966719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING KESSY ANTENNA

    Vehicles with air suspension 

  12. Disconnect sub-part for air suspension on the underbody.
    1. 12.1. Disconnect electric plug connections on the compressor for the levelling system. → 431519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPRESSOR FOR LEVELLING SYSTEM
    2. 12.2. Disconnect electric plug connection on the valve unit (levelling system). → 432355 REPLACING VALVE UNIT (LEVELLING SYSTEM)
    3. 12.3. Unclip and expose electric line.

    Vehicles with DeNOx catalytic converter 

  13. Disconnect sub-part for DeNOx catalytic converter at the underbody.
    1. 13.1. Disconnect electric plug connection on control unit for reducing agent.
    2. 13.2. Disconnect electric plug connection for temperature sensor for exhaust gas downstream of DeNOx catalytic converter. → WM 247319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OXYGEN SENSOR DOWNSTREAM OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
    3. 13.3. Disconnect electric plug connection on NOx sensor with control unit.
    4. 13.4. Unclip and expose electric line.

    Vehicles with mobile communication antenna 

  14. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on mobile communication antenna.

    Vehicles with front camera 

  15. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on front camera. → 963819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT CAMERA

    Vehicles with GPS antenna 

  16. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on GPS antenna. → 911319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING GPS ANTENNA
