Removal Of Chain Tensioner

  1. Remove the engine. → Removing engine
  2. Remove the transmission. → WM 100127 REMOVING ENGINE FROM TRANSMISSION AND MOUNTING ENGINE ON TRANSMISSION
  3. Secure engine on mounting bracket. → 1001IN SUPPORTING V6 3.6-LITRE DFI ENGINE ON MOUNTING BRACKET
  4. Remove engine carrier eyebolt at the front and rear. → 1001IN LIFTING V6 3.6-LITRE DFI ENGINE WITH A WORKSHOP CRANE
  5. Remove the engine wire harness. → Removing wire harness for engine
  6. Remove bar ignition modules. → WM 282020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DFI BAR IGNITION MODULES
  7. Remove intake-air distributor. → Removing Intake-Air Distributor
  8. Remove drive belt. → Removing And Installing Drive Belt 
  9. Remove belt tensioner. → Removing Belt Tensioner

  10. Remove cylinder head cover. → WM 158219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CYLINDER HEAD COVER ON V6 DFI ENGINES
  11. Remove flywheel/drive plate.
    1. 11.1. Remove dual-mass flywheel on vehicles with manual transmission. → Removing Flywheel (Dual-Mass Flywheel) 
    2. 11.2. Remove drive plate on vehicles with automatic transmission. → 136319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE PLATE FOR TORQUE CONVERTER 
  12. Remove oil pan. → Removing The Oil Pan
  13. Remove upper and lower timing-case cover. → Removing Upper Timing-Case Cover
  14. Position crankshaft to the compression TDC for cylinder 1. → WM 150502 CHECKING THE TIMING ON V6 DFI ENGINES
  15. Remove chain tensioner. → Removing Chain Tensioner
  16. Remove timing chains. → Removing Timing Chains
  17. Remove cylinder head. → Removing Cylinder Head
  18. Remove pistons. → Removing Pistons 
  19. Remove vibration balancer. → 137619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VIBRATION BALANCER (CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) ON V6 DFI ENGINES

  20. Remove joint flange behind the vibration balancer.

    1. Cylinder block
    2. Vibration balancer joint flange
    3. Hexagon-head bolt on vibration balancer joint flange
    4. Straight pin
    5. Lower timing-case cover
    6. Fastening screw on lower timing case cover
    1. 20.1. Unscrew hexagon-head bolts -3-  .
    2. 20.2. Carefully lever off the joint flange -2-  with a screwdriver.
