Removing and installing or replacing headlining (with sliding/tilting sunroof)

Preliminary work needed:

Remove ROLLER COVER for luggage compartment
Remove TRIM PANEL for roof pillar at front (A-pillar) left/right
Remove HANDS-FREE MICROPHONE .
Remove INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .
Detach SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS .
Remove ROOF SWITCH CLUSTER .
Remove front ROOFLINER COVER .
Remove TRIM PANELS for door pillars.
Remove front/rear grab handles. Refer to: REAR LEFT/RIGHT GRAB HANDLE and FRONT GRAB HANDLE .
Remove rear ROOFLINER COVER .
Remove TRIM PANEL for roof pillar at rear (C-pillar) left/right
Remove trim panel for roof pillar at rear. Refer to: LEFT D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL andRIGHT D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL

Complete removal only:

Removal:

Slide driver's seat fully forwards and fold back backrest.

Slide front passenger seat fully forwards and fold back backrest.

Fold rear seat backrests forwards.

Release expanding rivets (1 and 2).

Detach headlining (3) downwards off edge protection with aid of a second person.

Unfasten plug connection.

Lay down headlining (3).

If removing completely:

Feed out headlining (3) over windshield opening with the aid of a second person.

Installation:

Bring headlining (3) into installation position and connect plug connections.

Mount expanding rivets (1 and 2).

NOTE: Make sure that the headlining (3) is seated correctly at all adjacent parts.

Required follow-up work:

Mount TRIM PANEL for roof pillar at front (A-pillar) left/right
Install MICROPHONE .
Install ROLLER COVER for luggage compartment.
Install INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .
Mount SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS .
Mount ROOF OPERATING UNIT .
Mount front ROOFLINER COVER .
Mount TRIM PANELS for door pillars.
Mount grab handles. Refer to: REAR LEFT/RIGHT GRAB HANDLE and FRONT GRAB HANDLE .
Mount rear ROOFLINER COVER .
Mount TRIM PANEL for roof pillar at rear (C-pillar) left/right
Mount trim panel for roof pillar at rear. Refer to: LEFT D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL andRIGHT D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL
