	Remove/install
1	Remove left front cover at left cylinder head.		AR01.30-P-5711MNA
2	Remove bolts (3) and remove bleed line (4).	: Replace seal.
		Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger	*BA01.20-P-1001-01J
3	Remove bolts (9) and remove crash plate (10)	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
		Bolt, shield to cylinder head/cylinder head cover	*BA07.02-P-1002-01E
4	Remove left high-pressure pump.		AR07.02-P-1023MNA
5	Remove fuel injectors of left cylinder bank.		AR07.03-P-0004MNA
6	Remove the ignition coils for the left cylinder bank.		AR15.12-P-2003MNA
7	Remove side heat shield of left exhaust gas turbocharger.	Bolt, side heat shield to cylinder head cover	*BA09.40-P-1007-01ZA
8	Remove screw (5).	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
9	Unclip electrical wiring harness (6) at left cylinder head cover (1)	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
10	Disconnect cable tie (7) and remove fuel line (8).	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
11	Disconnect electrical connectors of position sensors at left cylinder bank.	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019	AR15.12-P-2144MNF
12	Release bolts (2) of left cylinder head cover (1) in reverse order to tightening procedure and remove.	Bolt tightening procedure for cylinder head cover	AR01.20-P-5014-03MNA
		Observe tightening procedure. : Replace screw/bolts (2).

13	Carefully pry off left cylinder head cover (1) from left cylinder head and remove.

	Notes on sealant path for cylinder head cover		AH01.30-P-1000-08MM
		Do not hammer in a tool to pry off between the left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head. The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise. : Replace rear connection pieces.

14	Remove position sensors of camshafts.	When replacing left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head (parts only available as a unit).

15	Remove bracket of upper engine cover at left cylinder head cover (1).	When replacing left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head (parts only available as a unit).
16	Remove bracket of vacuum line at left cylinder head cover (1).	Engine 177 in model 205 When replacing left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head (parts only available as a unit).
17	Remove slide rail at left cylinder head cover (1).	When replacing left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head (parts only available as a unit).
	Check
18	Check camshaft mounts in left cylinder head cover (1) and camshafts for galling and score marks.
	General information on checking camshafts and bearing points of camshafts		AH05.20-P-1000-09SZ
		If camshaft mounts or camshafts are damaged ↓ Replace left cylinder head cover (1) and left cylinder head (parts only available as a unit).

	Clean
19	Clean sealing surfaces at left cylinder head and left cylinder head cover (1).		AR01.00-P-0050-01A
		Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper. The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.
		Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A
		Loctite 7200	*BR00.45-Z-1038-04A
20	Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
21	Perform engine test run and check engine in terms of leak tightness while engine is running
