| 4 | Unhook electric lines (10) from holder (11) and place to one side. | Do not kink, crush or stretch the lines. Otherwise, the lines will be damaged and malfunctions will occur. |

| Model 238 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all- wheel drive) except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) Route suspension strut (5) on spring control arm (2) in suspension strut linkage area to one side. Otherwise, the elastomer boot on the suspension strut joint will be damaged. |

| 7 | Unscrew nut (6) and remove spring link (2) from front axle carrier (7). | *BA33.20-P-1002-01U | |
| 8 | Remove nut (3) and remove spring link (2). | The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle may be damaged. |

| 12 | Check elastomer bearing in spring link (2) for damage. | If the neutral (original) elastomer bearing is damaged, ↓ replace spring link (2). If the elastomer bearing for camber correction is damaged, ↓ replace elastomer bearing on spring link (2). |
