	Remove/install
1	Remove front wheel		AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Open cable duct (1) on suspension strut (2) and place to one side with connected lines	Model 238 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
3	Unhook brake hose (10) from brackets (11)	Model 238 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)
4	Unhook electric lines (13) from bracket (14) and place to one side	Model 238 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)
5	Remove suspension strut (2) from spring control (5) arm	: Observe insertion direction of bolt (6). Bolt (6) must be inserted from the rear towards the front. Otherwise the brake or the rim may be damaged. Nut, suspension strut to spring control arm	*BA32.25-P-1002-04P
6	Secure steering knuckle (3) against falling down
7	Remove upper transverse control arm (4) from steering knuckle (3)		AR33.20-P-0500LWO
8	Remove cover (7) or cover (8)
9	Unscrew nuts (9) from suspension strut (2)	Nut, strut to body	*BA32.25-P-1001-04P
10	Remove suspension strut (2) downwards	Carefully remove suspension strut (2). Otherwise the spring control arm strut on the spring control arm (5) may be damaged.
	Check
11	Check condition of suspension strut (2)	If a problem arises ↓ Replace affected parts on suspension strut (2).	AR32.25-P-1018LWO
12	Check suspension strut link on spring control arm (5) for condition and wear	If a problem arises ↓ Replace spring link (5). Model 238 except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR33.15-P-0170LWO
		Model 238 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)	AR33.15-P-0170LWQ
13	Install in the reverse order
	Check
14	Check/correct headlamp adjustment	When replacing suspension strut (2).
