  1. Determine projection (e) of elastomer bearing (1b) on spring control arm (1a) with vernier caliper.

    Press out elastomer bearing (1b) (picture A) 

  2. SPECIAL TOOL Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on press.
  3. Place spring control arm (1a) with chamfered side facing upwards on SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool (01).
  4. SPECIAL TOOL Place sleeve (02) on elastomer bearing (1b) of spring link (1a).
  5. Pre-tension press and line up spring control arm (1a) on SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool (01) and SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (02) on elastomer bearing (1b) with each other.
  6. Press out elastomer bearing (1b).

    Press in elastomer bearing (1b) (picture B) 

  7. SPECIAL TOOL Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on press.
  8. Place spring control arm (1a) with chamfered side facing upwards on SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool (01).
  9. Position new elastomer bearing (1b) with crush ring (1c) on spring control arm (1a).

    IMPORTANT The marking (G) on the elastomer bearing (1b) must line up with the camber (H) on the spring control arm (1a).

    Position elastomer bearing (1b) according to required camber correction:

    Positive camber change: +3 mm = +16' (picture C).

    Negative camber change: -3 mm = -16' (picture D).

    IMPORTANT The gap (F) in the elastomer bearing (1b) must always point upwards (in opposite direction to ball head on spring control arm (1a)).

  10. SPECIAL TOOL Place sleeve (02) onto elastomer bearing (1b).
  11. Pre-tension press and align spring control arm (1a) to SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool (01) and SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (02) to elastomer bearing (1b).
  12. Press in elastomer bearing (1b) until crush ring (1c) is released.
  13. Release press and remove crush ring (1c).
  14. Reattach press and continue pressing in elastomer bearing (1b) until the previously determined protrusion (e) is reached.

    IMPORTANT Make sure that the alignment of the spring control arm (1a) to SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool (01) and the SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (02) to elastomer bearing (1b) has not changed.
