Remove/Install Windshield - AR67.10-P-1700MFA

WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
WARNING Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m). AS82.30-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove cover for air/water duct. Model 118, 177 AR83.10-P-1411MFA

2 Remove front drip rails. Model 243 AR88.80-P-4000EQA

3 Remove A-pillar trims.   AR68.30-P-4050MFA
4 Remove inside rearview mirror.   AR68.40-P-0001MFA
5 Remove rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).   AR82.30-P-7801MFA
6 Remove multifunction camera. Model 118, 177, 243, 247 with code 233 (Adaptive cruise control Plus (DISTRONIC PLUS))

7 Remove the augmented reality camera (B84/14). Model 118, 177, 243, 247 with code 21U (Video recording function (Dashcam))

8 Cover vehicle interior in repair area.    
9 Mask off areas around windshield with suitable tape.    
WARNING Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A 
10 Cut out windshield and remove. IMPORTANT Helper required to remove windshield. AR67.10-P-1000-11SX 
INSTALLING Install

11 Prepare windshield window frame for installing window.   AR67.10-P-1501-01MFA 
Notice  General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area IMPORTANT Use only primer fillers and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG: https://xentryportal.i.daimler.com AH98.00-P-9408-06A
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
12 Prepare windshield for installing window. NOTES
Model 243, 247 with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
Use new windshield.
Because the windshield is destroyed during removal.

13 Replace rubber window spacers. IMPORTANT Remove protective foil from rubber window spacers only on one side. AR67.10-P-1000-02MFA 
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
14 Close hood.    
15 Align windshield in body opening. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required. AR67.10-P-1000-09MFA 
    Distance between top edge of window and front edge of roof/sliding roof aperture panel *BE67.10-P-1001-02C 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 2
16 Detach protective foil from the rubber window spacers.    
17 Apply adhesive material. NOTES
Install windshield within 10 min of applying adhesive material.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.

18 Install windshield. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required. AR67.10-P-1503-01P 
19 Allow adhesive material to cure. IMPORTANT Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing time of the adhesive material.
Only perform the following work after the curing time.
 
20 Remove adhesive strips and cover material from vehicle.    
21 Clean repair area.

29 Install wiper arms. IMPORTANT Make sure that the driver-side wiper arm is in the upper position. AR82.30-P-6100MFA
