Perform Wheel Alignment Check - AR40.20-P-0200RQ

MODIFICATION NOTES

11.01.2023 Perform basic setting on coil-over suspension. Operation step 6.

INSPECT Check     
1.1 Check whether the front torsion bar linkage is located in the outer bore of the front stabilizer bar. Model 190
with code 478 (AMG RIDE CONTROL)
except code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    If the front torsion bar linkage is not located in the outer bores,

secure front torsion bar linkage in outer bores.

1.2 Check whether the front torsion bar linkage is located in the inner bore of the front stabilizer bar. Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
except code 478 (AMG RIDE CONTROL)
 
    If the front torsion bar linkage is not located in the inner bores,

secure front torsion bar linkage in inner bores.

2 Check whether the front torsion bar linkage is located in the respective center bore of the rear stabilizer bar or lever arm. Model 190
with code 478 (AMG RIDE CONTROL)

    If the rear torsion bar linkage is not located in the center bores,

secure rear torsion bar linkage in center bores.

3 Check if the front axle has been adjusted to the basic setting using the adjusting plate "8" between the upper transverse control arm and the wheel carrier. Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    Check basic setting of camber on front axle
If the basic setting is not set,

install adjusting plate "8".

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, upper transverse control arm holder to steering knuckle *BA33.20-P-1008-01P 
4 Check whether the basic setting of the rear axle is set on the lower control arm. Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    Check basic setting of camber on rear axle AR40.20-P-0306-01RQ 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION For the basic setting of the rear axle, the groove of the adjusting plate on the screw head points towards the vehicle center.  
    If the basic setting is not set,

turn groove on adjusting plate towards vehicle center.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, lower transverse control arm to wheel carrier *BA35.20-P-1003-07D 
MEASURING Measure     
5 Perform basic setting on all suspension struts. Model 190
with code 478 (AMG RIDE CONTROL)

6 Perform basic setting on coil-over suspension. Model 190
with code M030 (GT R version)

      AR32.25-P-0003RG
7 Deactivate rear axle steering by activating roller brake test stand mode. Model 190
with code 201 (Rear axle steering)
 
      AR46.20-P-0501-01RG
    IMPORTANT In order to ensure as accurate a measurement result as possible, the rear axle steering must be deactivated before driving onto the wheel alignment system. Tensions in the rear axle are avoided by subsequently driving onto the wheel alignment system.  
8 Drive vehicle onto wheel alignment system and shift transmission to position "P".

    IMPORTANT The wheel alignment system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
9 Secure vehicle with parking brake.    
10 Select "Sport" drive program with drive program rotary switch (S192). IMPORTANT Always perform the wheel alignment measurement in the "Sport" drive program.  
11 Open window of the driver's door. IMPORTANT Preparations for checking steering lock.  
12 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).    
13 Prepare vehicle for wheel alignment measurement.   AR40.20-P-0260SX 
14 Install brake pedal jack with adapter for brake pedal jack between brake pedal and driver's seat and clamp into place. NOTES
Protect the brake pedal and driver seat from damage.
The brake pedal and/or driver seat can otherwise be damaged.
 
    IMPORTANT Do not load vehicle any more.

15 Mount Mercedes-Benz quick-clamp holders.   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
16 Attach measuring heads.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 13 21 00 Wheel alignment system   WS40.00-P-0013B 
    IMPORTANT Only use measuring systems approved by Mercedes-Benz.  
    IMPORTANT See relevant manufacturer's operating instructions.  
17 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle using electronic inclinometer.   AR40.20-P-0302RQ 
18 Carry out input measurement.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 13 21 00 Wheel alignment system IMPORTANT See corresponding axle measurement system operator's manual. WS40.00-P-0013B 
19 Compare determined values with the specified values. Assign suspension data Model 190 AR40.20-P-0203RQ

25 Carry out output measurement.

26 Detach measuring heads.

28 Relieve and remove brake pedal jack with adapter for brake pedal jack. SPECIAL TOOL Pedal arrester Fig 1

29 Lock turn and slip plates.

30 Activate rear axle steering by deactivating roller brake test stand mode. Model 190
with code 201 (Rear axle steering)

32 Adjust headlamps.
