Remove/Install Front Axle Upper Control Arm - AR33.20-P-0500RG

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove front suspension strut (1).   AR32.25-P-1017RG
    NOTES
While working on the front axle care must be taken to ensure that the surfaces of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches.
Otherwise, the service life of the components will be reduced.
 
2 Unscrew screw (3) and detach holder of level control system from upper transverse control arm (2).    
3 Unscrew screw (4) and detach holder of brake hose from upper transverse control arm (2).    
4.1 Detach nut (7) and pry upper ball joint (8) off steering knuckle (9). Model 190
except code M032 (Black Series version)

4.2 Remove screws (10), detach holder (12) with upper transverse control arm (2) from steering knuckle (9) and remove adjusting plate (11). Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
 
5 Secure steering knuckle (9) against tilting. NOTES
Do not tension, kink or crush brake hose and electrical lines.
Damage may occur otherwise.
 
6 Detach nuts (5), remove screws (6) and remove upper transverse control arm (2). NOTES
The transverse control arm brackets may only be detached from the bodyshell or the bodywork for repairs!
Otherwise, the threads on the frame may be damaged.
 
INSPECT Check     
7 Check upper transverse control arm (2) and upper ball joint (8) for damage. If there is damage.

Replace upper transverse control arm (2).
 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Install upper transverse control arm (2), screw in screws (6) and attach nuts (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, upper transverse control arm to body *BA33.20-P-1001-01P 
9.1 Install new holder (12) with adjusting plate (11) on steering knuckle (9) and screw in screws (10). Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    When replacing the upper transverse control arm (2).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, upper transverse control arm holder to steering knuckle *BA33.20-P-1008-01P 
9.2 Attach adjusting plate (11) and holder (12) to steering knuckle (9) and screw in screws (10). Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    When reusing the upper transverse control arm (2).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, upper transverse control arm holder to steering knuckle *BA33.20-P-1008-01P 
10.1 Install upper ball joint (8) in holder (12) and attach nut (7). Model 190 with code M032 (Black Series version)
When replacing the upper transverse control arm (2).
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, upper transverse control arm to steering knuckle *BA33.20-P-1002-01P 
10.2 Install upper ball joint (8) in steering knuckle (9) and attach nut (7). Model 190
except code M032 (Black Series version)
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, upper transverse control arm to steering knuckle *BA33.20-P-1002-01P 
11 Attach holder of brake hose to upper transverse control arm (2) and screw in screw (4).    
12 Attach holder of level control system to upper transverse control arm (2) and screw in screw (3).    
13 Install front suspension strut (1).   AR32.25-P-1017RG
MEASURING Measure     
14 Perform chassis alignment.   AR40.20-P-0200RQ
